FAQs
1. Can I insure my shipment with RAM?
Yes, and it's worth knowing that RAM is the only courier in South Africa that can assume full liability with zero excess. Activate Full Liability cover and if something goes wrong, you're fully covered with zero excess and no financial contribution from your side.
Full Liability cover is available to Credit Approved Customers. To activate it, simply tick the Full Liability option on your waybill (online or manual) and declare the value of your goods. The charge is calculated based on that declared value and you'll find the details in our Service Costs Schedule.
A few things to keep in mind:
- The declared value can't exceed the replacement cost of the items at the time of loss or damage
- Full Liability doesn't apply to second-hand goods
- Full terms are outlined in RAM's Full Liability Schedule
2. How do I report a loss or damage claim?
First, a heads up: goods are moved at owner's risk unless you've activated RAM's Full Liability Option. If you have, you're covered and we'll take it from there.
Before you send, please make sure your parcel is packed well enough to withstand transport by road or air. This is a condition of shipment, and a well-packed parcel is your best protection against damage in transit.
To log a claim, email us at info@ram.co.za and we'll handle it.
